WindFloat Atlantic opens Its doors to the local community for the second consecutive year!

WindFloat Atlantic opens Its doors to the local community for the second consecutive year!

On June 15th, the Administration of the Ports of Douro, Leixões, and Viana do Castelo S.S. (APDL) once again organized the “Day of the Port of Viana”, a day when the local community and interested parties are invited to come in and learn more about the port’s activities and the different companies operating there.

For the second consecutive year, WindFloat Atlantic was one of the key sponsors and participants in the Day of the Port of Viana program! During the morning, the WindFloat Atlantic team had the opportunity to welcome and talk more about the project to different groups of visitors, as well as to show in detail how it works and is constructed.

How? Through a 3D model that shows how the wind farm is built and how energy transmission is processed, and through a 360 virtual experience that recreates a visit to the wind farm!

Without a doubt, this was a great opportunity to better connect with the local community of Viana do Castelo and to showcase a bit more about our day-to-day activities.

But that wasn’t all!

In the afternoon, the WindFloat Atlantic team had the opportunity to participate in the Port Race, which was part of the Day of the Port of Viana activities! The team participated in the 10 km race and the 5 km walk, enjoying a fantastic route that passed through the Ecovia Costeira Norte in Darque, the local Eiffel Bridge, and the shipyards of the port, ending at the Marina Garden. It was undoubtedly an opportunity to see Viana do Castelo and the Port of Viana’s facilities from a different perspective!

Moreover, after a year of training, several team members improved their times compared to last year!

Congratulations to the WindFloat Atlantic team for participating in this initiative and thank you to everyone who visited our facilities to learn a little more about this local project!
